Ed Cabassa
Principal

Edward Cabassa is the Principal of International Insurance Center. A graduate from the University of Florida with a BSBA Degree, he brings over 30 years of insurance experience. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he moved to Miami, Florida at an early age and has been a local resident since.

In addition to a Licensed Multi State Agent, he has also earned an Accredited Adviser in Insurance designation (AAI). Currently a member of the Florida Independent Agent’s Association & Latin American Association of Insurance Agencies, he’s also a past Board of Director of the Dade County Independent Agent’s Association.

Ed’s business plan for International Insurance Center has always been to provide professional & personal service to our clients, while constantly implementing new technology and partnering with only reputable stable insurance companies.

When not running the agency, Ed’s passion is competitive sailing, fishing and riding his motorcycle all over the U.S.

Maria Fisk
Vice President

Maria Fisk started her insurance career working for the Health Insurance industry in 1982. In 1984, while obtaining her Associates in Arts degree from Miami Dade Community College, she began working with International Insurance Center where she focused on Property & Casualty insurance.

Maria became a Principal of IIC in 2001. She now manages the day to day operations of the agency as well as handling small commercial accounts as well as personal auto and homeowners. She is committed to keeping the technical automation aspects of the agency on the cutting edge.

She has obtained her 2-20 insurance license and earned her Accredited Advisor Insurance (AAI) designation. She has her Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) designation. She also has served on the Progressive Insurance Company's Customer Service Quality Council. She is an active member of the Florida Association Insurance Agents and Latin American Association of Insurance Agencies.

Maria does volunteer work for the American Cancer Society and the Dan Marino Foundation for Autism. She also enjoys traveling, photography and cooking.

Roger Dominguez
General Lines Agent

Roger Dominguez is an insurance agent at International Insurance Center, Inc. (IIC). He helps small businesses and individuals to better manage their risks by providing cost effective insurance solutions. Roger has worked as an agent at IIC since December of 2002 and is involved with commercial general liability, property, workers compensation, business auto, employment practices liability, marine cargo, homeowners insurance, and personal auto insurance.

Prior to his work at IIC Roger worked as a telecommunications expert from 1993 to 2000. In 1986, he founded Florida Intranet Group, Inc. (FIG). FIG provided computer network infrastructure services to many large corporations and businesses in the SE Florida region and was successfully sold in 1999 to a public company. From 1999 to 2000, he worked as vice-president of operations for Black Box Network Services, Inc. SE Florida.

Roger obtained a BS in mathematical science from Florida International University, he is a registered electrical contractor in the State of Florida, holds a 220 insurance license, and numerous technology certifications from companies such as NEC, IBM, Toshiba, Ortronics, Siemens, ATT, Cisco, and Siecor.

Roger is a fishing, diving, and culinary enthusiast. He has traveled extensively through out Europe with his family. A native of Cuba, he has lived in the U.S. since 1962, and is married with three children.

Jose I. Ortiz
General Lines Agent

Jose has been a licensed insurance agent in the State of Florida since 1977. He holds licenses in property & casualty, commercial, home, life, disability and auto insurance. He specializes in homeowners and business insurance, concentrating on individual, small and mid size companies.

Jose believes in developing long term relationships with his clients. His model of customer focus, along with his expertise in the insurance industry, has brought a realization of satisfaction to his clients. Jose has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Florida International University and was a Director with the Independent Insurance Agents of Dade County. He lives in Coral Gables, FL, and is married to his wife of 32 years, Ani. He is proud to bring his experience and knowledge to International Insurance Center.
